2017 Hunting Heritage Banquet Report

The Highlands Chapter would like to thank all who attended our
22nd Annual Super Fund Banquet and made it a great success.
We had a great turnout and a great banquet!

Special THANK YOU to Committee Member Donna Yarrish. Donna made this event work.

Our "Western Theme" was complete with coral fencing, hay, saddles, and chocolate covered cactus (pretzels).

Donna took care of making or buying all the "western" decorations used, from the Ranch Gate entryway to all the table cloths in the silent auction and the back drop over the stage. She also provided Cactus, "hop-along" ponys, and a host of other items to make the theme work.

No theme would work withot the proper attire. Donna suited up in Chaps, Boots and Spurs to look the part.
The Chapter members wore cowboy attire, Hats, Vests, Western Shirts, etc.

Special prizes were awared to the best Western Costume, Couple, Individual Male, Female, and Jake.

One couple was outstainding. He wore the complete outfit, boots to hat, vest, Duster, Holster, and his better half was similarly dressed in the "West". Our auctioneer from "Pennsyltucky" is always attired in western wear and was awarded for Best Male and one of our Jakes was cowboy for the day and was rewared with a fishing rod.

In addition to providing all the decorations for our theme, Donna also put together an awesome Women's Table Raffle" with over 75 great gifts, that ranged from Jewelry to Vodka, and included gift certiicates for dinners, tickets to sporting events and much more.
The raffle was a "bucket" raffle. Sheets af tickets were sold and inidividuals chose which items the wanted to win. Overall, a lot of gun and a great game

This special woman completed these great tasks even while battling that dreaded "C" word, Cancer.
In Donna's honor, the chapter ran a special raffle with the proceeds to benefit the

The Valley Hosptital Foundation
BREAST CENTER

where Donna received some of her treatments.

The Raffle Prize was a Remington 870 2oga in Pink Camo.

Donna knew that her work was appreciated, but was not expecting our surprise for her.

In recognition of her outstanding work, Donna was awarded a special plaque naming her the
Highlands Volunteer of the Year

Along with the award was a gift certiicate for a dinner for two at a top-notch local restaurant.

This year, the chapter opted to have a Buffet Style Dinner and the Zeris Inn provided a great layout

Entrees included Two types of Pasta, Chicken Francais, Chicken with Wild Mushrooms, Beef Burgandy, Potatos, A Fish entree, Sausage and Peppers, Potatoes, Mixed Greenbean Dish, Salad and Rolls.

Our Auctioneer, Eric Zettlemoyer (Zettlemoyer Auction Co.) did a fine job and quickly sold over 40 items. We had many great items in the Live Auction and many donations in our Silent Auction. We had two very special items, A Custom Knife, by Master Bladesmith, Bill Gruelich, two Eastern Shore Whitetail Hunts, by Bob Cole, Jr. who was present at the banquet, If you were unable to attend, we had several great hunts in the Live Auction including:
  • NY State Turkey Hunt for 2018
  • Cape Cod Sea Duck Hunt
  • Two MD Eastern Shore Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunts
  • Two-Man Texas Rio Turkey Hunt
  • Two African Safari Hunts in South Africa and Mozambique
  • A 10-Bird Pheasant hunt in the Catskills

Once again,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
We hope to see you at our
